It’ll be smoking hot, but you’ll have a hell of a time as you take on the original Dakar Rally route across the Sahara Desert in any car you like - from a Banger to a Bentley!

From the Algerian border to the Atlantic Ocean, you’ll battle your way across hundreds of miles of sand, rock and gravel through Morocco - and we’ll be there to support you all the way.

The rally is open to anyone with a sense of adventure and in any car, but for those that want a real challenge, bring a 2-wheel drive. For others that prefer their adventures slightly less demanding, 4×4’s are welcome too.

Find a teammate, grab a 10mm spanner, buy yourself a set of wheels (or just borrow your Dad’s old Rover!) and join us for 2 weeks of real adventure.

Each team of between 2 and 4 drivers must find and prepare their own car - the cheaper and more unsuitable your wagon though, the greater the ‘Smiles per Miles’! If you’re not sure what to do, we can advise on how to source and prepare a suitable vehicle…contact us for more information.

The Sahara Rally is an adventurous rally that requires endurance, stamina and resilience when the going gets tough. Whilst battling through arduous terrain in such a challenging and extreme environment, common issues include punctured tyres, holed engine sumps, damaged exhausts and endless vehicle recoveries from soft sand. But with all teams pulling together when needed, no one is left stranded.

Of course, with any car costing from as little as £500, there are always going to be issues, so your team is backed up by a professional support crew in expedition equipped 4×4’s who are on hand to cover any eventualities - Leader, Guide, Medic & Mechanics.

Delivered by expedition specialists Max Adventure, we have been operating vehicles in extreme environments for over 25 years, in temperatures from -60C to +50C and 5,600 meters above sea level (and everyone has come back!).

We have worked alongside explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Hollywood actor Tom Hardy in places as far-flung as Siberia, the North Pole and Mt Everest.

Originally conceived as a support programme to help ex-military personnel with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) by taking them on challenging vehicle adventures to aid their recovery, the Sahara Rally is now open to the public, allowing adventurers from all walks of life to take part.

Entry fee for the ‘Sahara Rally’ is from as little as £995 per person. This cost includes the return ferry from Spain to Morocco, 2 nights hotel accommodation; 9 nights campsite accommodation (with the option to upgrade to auberges / hotels); 2 night wild camping; UHF radio hire; branded team clothing; satellite mapping and vehicle graphics.

Starting and finishing in Los Barrios, southern Spain, the total adventure is 14 days.
